Commonwealth Games - Delhi, India

After a week in China, the Australian Diving team was off to Delhi for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The Games Village was good, however many parts weren't quite finished. We were in building 20, on the penthouse level! Our four bedroom apartment had all seven diving girls and I roomed with Anabelle.
The diving pool was good, nice a bright with quite good springboards and platform. This was our offiical diving team photo, looking smart in our formal uniform.
Due to my back injury I only competed in the 3m synchronised and the 10m synchronised events. They were both on the 10/10/10! 3m synchro was in the morning and 10m synchro in the evening. Sharleen and I came 2nd behind the Canadian pair, with Jaele and Olivia in 3rd place.
I had a few hours rest before the 10m synchro event with Anabelle, we came 3rd in a close event, and I little unlucky not to get the silver medal, still happy with bronze. The last photo is of Anabelle, me and my drug tester! I love that photo of Anabelle and me doing back dive off the 10m - perfect synchro!
On the day of the Mens 3m final I was lucky enough to be selected to sit with Prince Edward and chat with him about all things diving, he was a lovely guy and it was a lot of fun!
There was plenty of security at the Commonwealth Games, with Police escort for every trip between the village and the pool, also armed security on the bus, at the pool, at the village and along the route. Heres me riding on the tuk tuk in the dining hall at the village.
I got village day passes for Dad and Rita, it was great to have them come in the village and show them around! Also a photo of me putting James out of his misery at the airport in Delhi where check in took over 3 hours!! It was the start of a very very long journey home.
